Where's the line between an argument and a flame war? I should think that
both Mr. Dinn and I know what a fake book is... If Pynchon intended to
snub Deleuze & Guattari, the snub is contained precisely in the idea that
they should write a manual for fakers. The argument for or against starts
there.
But there will be no flame war. Whenever I mention D&G, Mr. Dinn no doubt
grimaces, laughs, and makes sure he puts his side of the argument. It's
been happening for years. It never gets anywhere. Maybe it's a Slow
Burner...
