More than attempt; did her in quite successfully and then went on to write a
chillingly lucid [mad?] account of her murder, to boot.  No Alzheimer's
there, as far as I know.  Kristeva has the episode in _The Samurai_, where
her psychoanalyst character comments on the murder in a suitably icy aside,
muttering something about "not the therapy I'd have prescribed."
