"Difficult"?

Okay, so Pynchon is hard---isn't that what we like, in part, about his
work?  Being part of the elite that struggles (and not without reward!)
with his often jumpy and opaque plot twists?  

Fuck the manuals and companion readers that give you 1:1 relationships and
Junior G-man decoder rings...I usually leave the first reading to
shits-n-giggles, the second to figuring out what's actually going on, and
subsequent readings to filling in plot points and simply appreciating fab
writing.
