But doesn't it also treat things like how the west was turned into the *West*?  How power 
and force create *History*?  How the language of the old west conlicted with the european 
world views of its first European settlers?  All a little fuzzy to me, too, but definitely NOT 
a simple *Western* for the dime novel rack.
