On a related note: I re-read Umberto Eco's SIX WALKS IN THE FICTIONAL WOODS
and I am amazed by the connections to the discussion of M&D on this list -
I recommend it as an entertaining and enlightening discussion of fiction
and its readers - The character described by Paul is very much in focus in
Eco's book
