     I thought it was Holt, not Pynchon, who wanted the negatives returned. 
      And I also recall reading somewhere that as a third part, Holt is not 
     entitled to act on Pynchon's behalf.

I wonder if the unfortunate circumstances of Diana Spencer's death will 
give a boost to Thomas Pynchon's legal quest to have the negatives of the 
photographs taken of him by James Bone turned over.  Has there been any 
further mention of the suit anywhere?
     
I suppose the Times never printed my letter, else they or one of my 
British comrades would have told me, nix?  
     
Finally, before I go off to read Hitler's Willing Executioners, has 
Mittelwerk read M&D yet?  Or has he been too busy reading the Di and Dodi 
joke page?
