After reading the Real Dolls FAQ, and taking a shower to get rid of the
grimy feeling, I tried to think of where that whole concept might go, in
fiction. I didn't arrive at any breakthroughs, but Kawabata's novel, House
of Sleeping Beauties, came to mind: about a brothel that services old,
impotent men, who spend the night with drugged virgins -- who can't respond
even if there were something to invoke a response -- and recall the loves
of their youth. It's a creepy but beautiful book.
