Is M&D as good as GR???

I was 40 the year it was published but never got around to reading it until
24 years later. The problem at that point was getting thru all the
accumulated "chatter",not only about the book but also the author himself
-- something
about holding the naked name,or book.

  Would be interested in hearing from those -- if there are any -- that
first read
GR after 60.
