Since the post I was responding to alluded to doctors, I needed to reply
accordingly. Obviously the analogy is in bad taste, but it nearly perfectly
conveys the meaning I was after--the difference between an analytical
view and that of the appreciative general reader. On reconsideration I'll
retract the final statement. I don't see the need for male gynecologists
when there are females ones available. However I still think we need
English professors. And the "we" refers to both sexes.
