I believe Vaska knows of what she speaks. Catholicism never really leaves.
Puritanism is more chic (in America) and P might LIKE  to reclaim distinguished 
roots.  But Rome can't but rule in the end. He could be a daily communicant
for all we know. Was only trying to bring Chrissie home.
