Vaska sez:
Shouldn't constrain but enlarge and expand, rather: once upon a time Pynchon
was a practising Catholic and would [still] have all sorts of things up his
sleeve as material for the allusions and little intertextual games he
obviously joys in setting up.
I believe Vaska knows of what she speaks. Catholicism never really leaves.
Puritanism is more chic (in America) and P might LIKE to reclaim distinguished
roots. But Rome can't but rule in the end. He could be a daily communicant
for all we know. Was only trying to bring Chrissie home.
