Squire queries

Can anyone remind me of Squire Haligast's first name?

I just read the passage wherein it is suggested he write all the
company's business letters, after they open an iron mine, and that he be
set up in a booth underneath a sign reading QUERIES. The similarity
between 'Squire' and Queries makes me wonder

1) if his first name contains the necessary second 'e' to form 'queries'

and

2) what the rest of the letters in his name might anagramize...

Kind of a shot in the dark, but...
