from Mike Weaver re 'so far so good'

 My first recollection  of "So far,so good "  was in the 1960 movie
"Magnificent Seven", one of the early scenes where Chris ( Yul Brynner)  is
rounding up the seven.
One of them who is on the run, says he's doing as well as the guy who jumped
out a  6 story window.  As he was falling, his friends on the 5th, 4th 3rd
and so on floors said "How ya doin'?"  He replied, "So far, so good''.
