Calling all UK p-listers of leftist leaning . Do you know about Raise Your
Banners the biannual Festival of Political Song (and music, poetry,
theatre...) in Sheffield on Nov 1st/2nd w/end. The gigs start on the
Thursday night. Sounds like a great place to have an out of London social
(and public reading of our favourite writers radical eloquences.??) there's
lots of great performers, from the old gang like Frankie Armstrong and Leon
Rosselson by way of Attila The Stockbroker to more recent arrivals like
Fun-da-mental and the Tofu Love Frogs.
I will be doing a book stall for the Working Class Movement Library, so can
provide a focus for us during the day. That's somewhere in the main Hallam
Uni building. For the tonedeaf and crackvoiced we will be supplying "Can't
Sing , Won't Sing , " badges.
With the Blair government six months old, I'm feeling that there is
going to be a lot of creative political dialogue happening among the singing
and playing, acting and orating. Any of you into it?

Mike
