In a decaying industrial block in Haverhill, there is a knife 
sharpening service called 'The Razor's Edge', where I take the home 
cutlery. The proprietor's son stands behind the counter which is 
adorned with military memorabelia stretching from the war of 
independence to Vietnam.
One day I'm waiting and examining a small glass display containing 
iron crosses, daggers, and several faded polaroids. There is one of a 
couple of  special forces guys with a small index card attached. On 
it is a hand written account of the capture and execution of Che, 
sworn to by a SF officer, who was at the scene. It differs radically 
from what has (until relatively recently) been the accepted version 
of events.
Che was captured alive by a native contingent (bolivians?) supported 
by US advisors. He was held in a shack in some remote village while 
the debate raged as to what to do with him. The decision was made to 
execute Che on the spot. The ranking officer took Che into a room, 
explained what would happen, and accepted Che's offer of his pipe as 
some wierd war tribute, just before capping the guy.
One creepy ass encounter with real history.
