Or even of the California coastline. Has anyone pointed out the fractal
like description in the first sentence of the chapter (p. 204)? "The shape
of the brief but ledgendary Trasero County coast . . .  repeated on its
own scale the greater curve between San Diego and Terminal Island . . .
