I bet ol' Thomas is a hiding out with a militia camp someplace.  That's
why nobody knows where the ol' boy is.  He's jest a lay'n back, sipp'n on
a 16oz Bud, make'n fun of hippies, professors, and popular culture,
save'n up rice, and beans, and ammo... batteries for his laptop...  tasty
recipes for earth worms.  Cause he knows something that nobody else seems
to get.  It is the institution of the Republic that guarantees our
liberty, not the big D.  Without the constitution (and all amendments
especially the second), democracy is jest a big ol' bullshit popularity
contest.  America isn't a bunch of idiots running around with guns.  It's
a bunch of idiots running around with TVs for brains.  Tom's a redneck,
not a hippie.  It's fun a watch'n you fellers try to rationalize around
it though.  He stopped smoke'n that old rainbow marijuana right there in
the middle of Gravities Rainbow, and started smoke'n some good ol' home
grown.  One can observer the drug signature change as the book evolves if
one is sensitive to such things.

Fine art that we can imprint with our own meanings is great... ain't it?
