Further Proof of the Evil Nature of D.F.W.

What's really funny about Derek's post in response to Matt's is that some
would say that there's a difference between Cormac McCarthy and Cormac
McCarthy (i.e. early (Blood Meridian), good, later (All the Pretty Horses),
bad). Which bears out in that AthePH is getting a film version w/Matt
Damon, while Blood Meridian will, I pray, remain unfilmable (unless Sam
Peckinpah comes back from the dead to write and direct).

Blood Meridian is very good, IMHO.

But, I'll still have to buckle down and wade through one DFW novel, just to
see what everyone's complaining about (kind of like how I'm taking a class
on Lacanian psychoanalysis so I can at least sound educated if I decide to
start trashing it in the name of Gilles Deleuze)
