TRP wrote a short support notice for Matt Ruff's _Sewer, Gas and Electric_.
Melanie Jackson is Ruff's agent.
I enjoyed SGE, and had wanted to read Ruff's previous book, _Fool on the
Hill_, which had gone out of print but is now back. When I picked it up
last night I noticed two things of possible interest here.
_Fool on the Hill_ takes place at Cornell University, TRPs alma mater (also
the site for _Been Down So Long It Looks Like Up To Me_). The time is more
recent...1969 -- of special interest to me because it's the year just
before I got there, and a legendary year at that.
Also, SGE has been released as a mass-market (smaller, cheaper) paperback.
I wish that the same would happen for VL and M&D, as it did for Pynchon's
previous novels. The smaller size can be much more convenient, and at the
same time gives a stronger sense that these books are for everybody.
