Some comments

You guys really need to get your facts straight. Thomas Pynchon didn't 
write Stranger in a Strange land. This is a sci-fi novel by Robert 
Heinlin who also wrote the books on which The Puppet Masters (sucked) 
and Starship Troopers (awesome) were based.
