Kristina:
_V._ is still my favorite Pynchon book, especially the parts with Hugh
Godolphin. I hope you enjoy it. I agree with Doug, check out Tim
Ware's site - it helped me out greatly on a rereading I did of the
book a couple of years ago. The book goes back and forth in time
quite a bit - what of TRP doesn't? - but the ride is well worth it.
There's an article by Hanjo Berresem
in _Pynchon Notes_ (I forget which one, but I can dig it out if you
want) on the "V. in love" chapter that is expanded in his book
_Pynchon's Poetics_ (great book!). Also, his short article in _PN_
#10 called "Godolphin, Goodolphin, Goodol'phin, Goodol'Pyn, Good ol'
Pym: A Question of Integration" which compare the Vheissu parts with
Poe's novel _The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket_. Good
luck and have fun!

Michael
