guess I'm getting old but The Thin Red Line seemed to be co-directed by 
Cormac McCarthy.  Ponderous.  a real dick movie.
I thought death was pretty cool once, but I'm younger than that now...
guess that makes me a dick (in love) in one of my past lives...:)
