I somewhat misrememberd piece from The Economist (a book review of a T.H.
Huxley bio actually) that stated "The Economist's Herbert Spencer . . .
popularised the term 'agnostic' to describe his moderate position between
radical atheism and reactionary religiosity." "Huxley." _The Economist_
vol. 85 1/28/95.
Sorry, got so carried away with ol' Spence and his neophrasism that I
credited him unduly with the neologism 'agnostic.'
