  No, while reading M&D I simply came across the passage. Call it   
  "synchronicity" or whatever you like.

  Well, though modernity brought us such wonderful things as posttraditional    
  arts & synthetic drugs, I think, all in all it turned out to be only a     
  perfectly "rationalized" form of the Archontic Terror, that had been going on 
  in the Garden of Eden ever since the Fall. Nevertheless a significant     
  magnification of that terror: Auschwitz, the Gulag & Hiroshima. Not to forget 
  all these souls devasteted by scientific materialism ... & isn't M&D 
  constantly joking about this "ideological" talk of the "Age of Enlightment"?! 
  Some people (- Hallo Hubert!) criticize the book's humor as boring & fussy.   
  But this fussyness is - at the end of our century - the darkest humor one can 
  imagine. In the snowball's silence lurks the apocalyptic sound of the V2 ...
