Well, 'Hous of Fame' just stops there, doesn't it. It's on the verge of
this great revelation and then . . . And it seems to be getting at the
place of the artist, rather than God, in the scheme of things, I think,
a little bit reflexive, a little (bite my tongue) postmodern? Don't
know, it's been a long time.
I remember my professor made comment that 'The Canterbury Tales'
similarly ends with disarray, confusion, silence.
