I'm getting a little more comfortable with (a), though it's still hard for me to
see how the Burning Bush could be available to a nonbeliever; (b) had to be before
that; T & DzQ came looking for the Aqyn for the express purpose of getting
directions to the KL. (Though no, I don't think KL was mentioned before this
episode.) I can go with your answer to (c) for the time being.

The right-hand, still untasted part of the novel, which,
during our delectable reading, we would lightly feel,
mechanically testing whether there were still plenty
left (and our fingers were always gladdened by the
placid, faithful thickness) has suddenly, for no reason
at all, become quite meager: a few minutes of quick
reading, already downhill, and -- O horrible!
