Turing the Gospel

Has anyone else read The Age of Spiritual Machines, by Kurzweil? I am into
it right now, and despite being an English major, am enjoying its
treatment of what we can expect from computers in the 21st century. I'd be
particularly interested to hear anyone who can comment critically or even
negatively on the book. I'm so green to such topics that it's hard not to
accept the author's word as "gospel." Best,
