In my dream it was a turtle, who was gradually coaxed to extend its head
and look about. We placed it on the floor of the cave. It began a slow but
turtle-like trek for the entrance. Before it left, it turned and looked
back at us. There could have been a salty tear in its eye. After it had
departed we looked at eachother, and realized that we had all heard the
same words in our heads: "Make me a friend."
