Joe Xmas and Profane/The Street

There are some interesting parallels to some of Joe Christmas' musings on 
the "street" and what it represents to him in his life as a drifter in 
_Light in August_, and those professed for or by Profane in V., i.e. the 
weary terror it inspires in both men.
