Tchitcherine will not listen to Dzaqyp's silent
messages. He will not
be turned from his mission. Galina and Luba, though,
have learned to
speak with Dzaqyp by silences.
Over and over in this section it is stated that
Tchitcherine will not
remember_anthing_ about this land, its intensity,
purity, and beauty.
Neither will he remember Galina. He will see the
Kirghiz Light, but he will not find his birth. "He is
no aqyn, and his heart was never ready," just as he
was not ready to receive Dzaqyp's silences. But why
does he forget everything? Is it his single-minded
mission which blinds his perception and thus memory of
the great beauty here? Was it all those opium trips?
Or was it the Light itself which blinded his memory,
took back the beauty he was not ready to see?
