Young Fur Henchmen

I was watching the Alistair Sims version of A Christmas Carol and noticed 
the children helping the "fence" for the goods stolen from E.S. after his 
death. They seemed to be mainly carrying about furs and other cloth items, 
i.e. young fur henchmen.
