NP: Stone Junction?

Gotta admit that I haven't read SJ yet. I'm reading a few other books at the 
moment, but I was wondering about whether it would be appropriate for a 14 
year old girl who got 800 on the verbal SAT (670 math) when she had just 
turned 13. Does it require experience, eg lit or sex?
