Holytail's what Moses saw up in the mountain when he asked to see G-D.  He 
was only allowed to see the Holytail as G-D passed by, resulting in Moses's 
face having to be veiled from the Children of Israel, because it now 
radiated bright light.

Moses was a very Pynchonian dude, the reluctant savior, always looking for 
the back door escape route.
