Or maybe the stink in Oklahoma city about _The Tin Drum_. I mean if an
implied darkly backlit scene of underage oral sex can cause such a
shitstorm (admittedly in the hotbed of conservatism), then his reticence
might not simply be the product of homophobia. I have to agree with
MalignD that Billy Bob's track record of whacking his wife around does not
help support that "all-around nice guy" thing, but I also don't have any
reason to believe he's particularly homophobic (other than that he was
born and raised in Malvern, AR, a town not highly esteemed for its
socio-political acumen--I know this from unfortunate first-hand
experience).
