Rich:

thanks for yr message, and sorry for not replying you before: I
returned to the net only yesterday, and have time to reply only
now. Sure remember telling you about my ghost essay-in-progress
when the two of us roamed about Guadalupe, Austin; it was the turn
of April 97, right? I was about to give the paper some weeks later
at the Am Comp Lit Assoc conference in Puerto Vallarta. However,
the theme of my panel in Mexico proved to be such that I asked the
moderator if I could present some other stuff of mine instead,
which would better resonate with other talks. And so it happened
that I never worked up the partly handwritten ghost talk into a
proper essay. Well, there'll be a whole chapter on GR's hauntology
in my thesis-in-progress, which I am working on feverishly. For
the present the chapter is rather sketchy. I'd be happy to send
you the chapter when it is done. Oh yes and: due to circumstances
beyond my control, I never managed to hear Steven Weisenburger's
IPW paper, "Haunted History". But I gather it was quite spooky,
wasn't it. (And Dana's latest Louisville talk focused on M&D and
specters...)

Engrossingly depicted impressions of your fourth time around, Rich.

Best,
Heikki
