I believe this may be the same fellow who now spends a bit of time in the
McDonalds next door to University Village (student family housing) down on
San Pablo Ave. in Albany (next to Berkeley). He does indeed have a
magician's top hat of a bag and talks about all kinds of matters, obscure
and otherwise. Last time I saw him, he was scribbling on napkins, covering
them with cramped and crabbed handwriting, then systematically wadding and
unwadding and shredding each. People tended to keep their children away
from him as we all sat around enjoying our burgers and fries, but it was an
impressive show nonetheless.
