London Calling?

Being a rabid fan of the Clash I've done some questioning and discovered
that many (we'll say something to the tune of 85% and rising) of the Pynchon
profs/obedient reader-followers tend to have more than a passable knowledge
of this, the greatest band of musicians ever to grace the eternally daylit
island out in the Atlantic--whereas the remaining populace seems happily
ambivalent offering only a few stragglers who happen to remember seeing
"Rock the Casbah" on VH-1.
Sensibly enough, many Pynchon followers were breaking beerbottles in the
late 70's/ early 80's and the Clash are literate enough (c'mon they have A.
Ginsburg as a backup vocalist...)-- but still its a congruency I'd like to
investigate.
Forgive the far afield-ness-- but I would be interested to know how many of
you are Clash fans (clashheads?). Any?

Thanks,
