Germans still don't get it

Somewhat different, of course.  Dropping a bomb is perhaps cleaner than 
herding people into a gas chamber.  As for Americans not "getting" it, I can 
well attest to the white-hot emotional issue Hiroshima, and, more especially, 
Nagasaki, is to many Americans.    To suggest that the dropping of the atomic 
bombs on Japan was wrong & unnecessary is asking for trouble here in the land 
of the free.
