Eric Zumbach asked forgiveness, then asked:

> how many of you
> are Clash fans (clashheads?). Any?

[Hand of lurking singer/writer/bassist joins already-dense pack of
rising hands.] Yes. Big-time, at least Back in the Day, and I still
put their records on from time to time. Was devoted enough that for
a couple of years I used "theclash" as my ATM password, humming "My
daddy was a bankrobber" pretty much every time I stopped for cash.
In the late '70s, at least in the U.S.A. (with which we were all So
Bored), anyone with an affinity for TRP's politics and worldview
would find it almost impossible not to hear a few resonances in
Strummerese.
