The context of Pynchon's MDMA saying

I would have to be crazy to bother with the crap on this "Pynchon List" or
did I stumble into an opium bar where all those day glow freaks still paint
the face, can't stand the place, post acid influenced dribble, and sit and
read eachother's groans? What's next? I see the hanged man, fear death by
rocket. I got it, why don't we discuss my revolt against catatonic
dada(ism), that would be my bagel #5. You know, what if I wrote, in V.,
Pynchon sez, "This is only 1 per cent of six million, but still pretty
good," and from this sentence say "I DO think Pynchon partial to genocide."
How irresponible, right?

Mercy, mercy me,

Clare
