The CIA indeed appears in GR:

CIA (1):  Chemical Instrumentality for the Abnormal
CIA (2):  Committee on Ideopathic Archetypes
CIA (3):  Committee on Incandescent Anomalies
CIA (4):  Commissariat for Intelligence Activities

Alas, not the Central Intelligence Agency, which didn't exist at the time.
