For many, postmodernism means ethical relativism. There is also an argument
that the times we live in are themselves postmodern, implying rampant
capitalism, consumerism, cultural genocide on a wholly unprecedented scale,
blablabla. Thus, Reagan and his natural heir Clinton as postmodern
phenomena, CNN as a postmodern manipulator of US dominated reality, etc.
The fact that the handful of intellectuals who can hold a steady discourse
on pm don't agree with each other makes such (mis?)conceptions
understandable. And, of course, it isn't only political reactionaries (like
the idiot running said website) who have problems with postmodernism - on
the contrary, many progressive thinkers dismiss postmodernism (or at least
the more air-headed kind) as a reactionary continuation of the Enlightenment
project (and neo-colonialism, continued Western domination, usw). You only
have to look at postmodernism from a postcolonial perspective to see that no
easy judgements, and pat dismissals of pomo critiques, are possible.

Btw, I have always read TRP as highly critical of pomo notions -
24frames-per-second post-war postmodernism as Their even more effective
control mechanism... just btw.
