     Stop that, Pynchon-loving revisionist!  Toto was a Cairn 
     terrier--Cairns are extremely cute, intelligent and fearsome to all 
     vermin--and don't you forget it!
     
     Now.  As far as that Toto-basher Rushdie's derogations are 
     concerned--as a breed, Cairns are known for gentleness, goddammit!  I 
     am sure the much put-upon Toto, ENSLAVED, I will remind you, in a 
     "stable" of movie dogs to the grossly animal-abusive capitalist 
     entertainment industry, was justified in whatever nips she took from 
     the backsides of those drunken Munchkins.  She probably spent 
     countless nights dreaming of the rocky cairns of her ancestral 
     homeland somewhere on the Isle of Skye...muffled rrrruffs...twitching 
     paws...she's a hero, the lone hunter, on her solitary, longing, 
     phantom quest in the foggy night of the...Dread.  Scottish.  BADGER.  
     Rrrruff!
