Rosa Luxembourg wrote something along the lines that the path to the final
victory of socialism over capitalism would be paved with defeats.  And
there lies a key difference of approach, no particular defeat is failure,
just another step on the dialectically driven road which may yet lead to a
post-capitalist world.  

Sex, drugs and R R were threads which wove their way through the era.  They
contributed. They continue to.  Somedays, someways negatively, rest of the
time the other.  Then, that's just how I see it.
