It was no pipe dream on Rich's part. I recently saw the same movie, actually
called The Perfumed Nightmare, directed and starring Kidlat Tahimik. It's
funny, surreal and a good example of the great things that can be
accomplished on a small budget (as I recall, the video had blurbs fom Werner
Herzog and Susan Sontag, but no Pynchon). The video was released through Les
Blank's company (whose films on various regional American music scenes are
also worth seeking out).

I wonder what ever happened to Kidlat Tahimik considering the movie was
