who is the master? what is the master? what is the matter? who is the mater?

all this talk of "the master" in PFP is suggestive (to me at least) of the
Master Equation from statistics which governs the evolution of probability
distributions of Markov processes (a Markov process is one in which memory has
little or no effect on the evolution). a-and it seems there's a lot of evolving
going on in GR... 

the possibility that the apex of the human power pyramid is occupied by neither
man nor god but rather a mathematical equation makes for rather paranoid
thinking, no?
