Goddard in New Mexico

Well, not really. The land that would later become the White Sands Proving
Grounds was still private ranch land when Goddard was firing his rockets
near Roswell which is about 70 miles to the northeast of White Sands and on
the other side of a mountain range.

American Robert Hutchings Goddard . His work was largely
ignored by the American government at first. Later, he and
his team moved to the White Sands Proving Grounds near
