Then there's the notion that myth represents the remains of prehistorical
realities that have been submerged in the rise of reason and science.  All
that stuff the Deluge washed away. The stuff that's pushed aside -- like
the Hollow Earth and its inhabitants that Dixon visits in M&D -- when every
nook and cranny has been measured and accounted for by Philosophers like
our eponymous pair.
