Slothrop vomits in the Malcolm X to the West clip. Slothrop
is often said to represent Orpheus here. Now as far as I
know--and I checked with my Greek friends--Opheus is not
associated with vomitting--I think this belongs to boys who
drink to much, mad boys, Bacchus/Dionyso and Romans but I
don't they figure into this.
Crab and Octopus are associated with Heracles
Heracles has an encounter with the Hydra, a watersnake
equipped with numerous heads. We maybe dealing with a story
describing the octopus (Greek octopus, yummy), which
confuses legs and heads in the whirl of activity. A crab
appears to aid the Hydra against Heracles, his legs are of
course genetically coded for regrowth upon loss, and this
feature enters the story.
