GRGR(9) - Katje as Venus

Throughout these scenes at the Casino H.G. Katje IS Venus:

Remember earlier in the text Pointy associates Venus with Ariadne, she who 
enticed Theseus into the maze in pursuit of the monster.  Venus/Ariadne is 
now used as bait for Slothrop to enter into another maze, that of the 
laboratory rat.

(190.20)  hair [now blonde, of course] in one of those emerald tiara, [...] 
rigged [like a boat?] out in a long Medici [isn't that from whence the 
famous "Birth of" painting was stolen in _V_?] gown of sea green velvet.

(196.32)  Katje's skin is whiter than the white garment she rises from.  
_Born again_ ... out the window he can almost see the spot where the 
devilfish crawled in from the rocks.

Katje/Venus "rises from" the white sequin foam of her dress.  She is the 
image of the Birth of Venus.
