I don't know. I think that always trying to see the Holocaust reflected in
Pynchon's representations of other (and Other) histories (Herero, Argentine,
the Dutch in Mauritius, Puritans in the US) is somewhat ... er ...
narrow-minded. It's important to recognise that these other histories exist,
Pynchon seems to be saying, *as well as* what happened to the Jews, gypsies,
homosexuals, blacks and disabled in Nazi Germany. Why is it so unthinkable
and rant-provoking to suggest that this depiction of a motley band of
Argentine anarchists aboard a *"hijacked"* German U-boat has something to do
with Argentina?
